447 days agoThank you so much, Dr. Lawlis. There is a light at the end of the tunnel, after all. I have a 10-year old autistic son who was diagnosed Autistic/PDD-NOS at 2 1/2 years old. It’s been a very long, arduous, uphill battle which “The Autism Answer” has made just a little easier. I now understand the behaviors and feel better equipped to handle them. Unfortunately, the school doesn’t want to hear anything I have to say or share. I’m in the process of weaning my son off Risperidone (4 mg. per day) and have introduced B-12, Magnesium, and Omega 3 with DHA. Since sharing this with the school, the daily complaints have multiplied and have become, I believe, more exaggerated. I’m also researching vision therapy, but so far have been discouraged since insurance does not even cover an evaluation. Any suggestions on how I can correctly use vision therapy at home would be awesome!

489 days agoI saw a show when Dr. Phil was helping a family with twin girls with autism. There is a treatment program/school for children who are autistic in Dallas, Tx and I am trying to get the name and contact information for a friend of mine. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much for your time.

657 days agoHi Dr Lawlis & greetings from Oz. Do any of your books detail biochemical imbalances & biomedical treatments? We have 3 kids & searched for years for answers to their issues until they were finally diagnosed with a metabolic condition called pyroluria & they are now doing great. There are very few biomedical practitioners in oz but Dr Bill Walsh (Phieffer Institute) from america is trying to train more. It is so frustrating that many practitioners dismiss biomedicine as there is not enough ‘peer reviewed’ evidence. However, we (as well as so many other i have come in contact) have finally been helped. Do you advocate Dr Walshes biomedical/biochemical approach? Would dearly love a reply. Sincerely, Karen

756 days agoI have 2 nephews with PDD/autism. I’m about halfway through the book & have already learned a great deal. My goal is to educate myself & learn as much as I can. Increased knowledge leads to better understanding. Better understanding can lead to stronger relationships with them both.

“Lawlis says: April 23, 2010 at 8:00 am (Edit) Hi Robin, You are the reason I put the book and audio program together … it is when you begin to notice things that it is important to have the best information possible. Once you sign up for the book, you’ll end up in my Member Area, and you’ll have access to new information that I find effective and helpful as it becomes available.”

1068 days agoI have read the book, thank you for making it available online. I have a 10 year old daughter that has never been formally diagnosed with autism or MR. She has been dianosed as Developmentally Delayed. We have been to every specialist our area has to offer. I started researching on the internet and found a listening program by Dr. Alfred Tomatis. We have been in a listening program with bone conduction for 4 years and now we are doing visual therapy. I continue to search the internet for help. Your book was the first information I have found discussing the visual problems. Thank you for your book. I know now I am at least on the right track to help her learn and to function in society. Many thanks again!

1115 days agoI get very skeptical when I see people writing books on autism who do not have a child with it. It is very hard to understand even if you do have a child like this because each and every child is slightly the same in possible one or two ways/mannerisms, but then very different in so many other ways. Us parents of these children are still trying to teach each other and share ideas/knowledge, but also trying to teach the doctors, therapists and teachers, etc. I don’t say this in a mean spirit, simply that most, damn near ALL of whom I have come across so far (there have been a few exceptions) simply just have not been taught, had the experiece to work with or just one child to base everything on. We need more awareness all around the medical field, school systems, and general community. I DO THANK YOU Dr. Lawlis ahead of time for this opportunity to read your book for free. I am also very leary but you try anything within your power to help your child. I get skeptical when I see the words “Cure and Answer” being used in the same sentence with Autism! I just hope this isn’t more “snakeoil”. Still hopeful and trying, Cheryl

1121 days agoHi Dr. Lawlis!
It’s Aidens’ mom. Huge thanks to You, Dr. Peavey and the rest of the team. I LOVED your book. I only wish I had it when Aiden was first diagnosed. I think it would have been very comforting and brought a sense of calm and comfort that could have saved so much panic-stricken emotion. I think it should be handed out to the parent of every newly diagnosed child. The open letter was amazing. I felt it was a great reminder that behavior IS COMMUNICATION and although some of our children do not speak, we still need to listen. Again, thank you all so much! I look forward to speaking with you soon.Sincerely,
Jessica -

1122 days agoI was enlighted by the note at the begining of the book. I have read and taken classes that refered to the fight/ flight, but it clicked for me in my realm. It made me think… the behaviors make sense.
Thank You!

1122 days agoWe have a 13 yrs. old daughter with Autism, wer adopted her as a new born and were blessed ever since she came into our lives. Like Dr. Phil said in his show today, every child is unique, my daughter is very friendly and sociable, wanting to talk and say hello to every body. But not every body can understand what she says and often is mistreated by her pears and the general public. We have come a long way, with other medical issues and facing new ones but we stand strong by her side. She is the love and the reason in our lives.

Having trouble downloading the book. My company has had success for autistic children from taking Calcium Bentonite Clay Baths. The parents report the children are calmer, make more eye contact and are more verbal. There are testimonials on Austism from parents on http://www.aboutclay.com. I have a sincere interest in helping these parents and children. I would be happy to send you clay and a copy of my Book Living Clay Nature’s Own Miracle Cure. Clay is actually a catalyst that works with the body rather than a direct cure. It cleanses and detoxes and has a 9.7 pH. Clay baths are known to draw out heavy metals. We have a facility that treats autism with supplements, diet and clay baths. I am a big believer in the food we eat balancing the body so it can heal itself.
Would love to read Dr. Lawlis’s book. I also went through Dr. Phil’s Pathways program and at the time lived about 30 miles from Munday, TX. Dr. Phil wouldn’t remember me personally. I was better acquainted wiht his dad, Dr. Joe in Wichita Falls. I still miss his common sense and humor and pure love.
Hoping to be of service, I remain,
Perry Arledge

As a parent with an affected child, and a parent advocate for early biomedical treatment of children affected, I am very thankful for the gift of a free copy of The Autism Answer! I am also happy to see that autism is making more headlines on shows like Dr. Phil. So many children now have this condition and it’s time society begins to acknowledge that and begins to publicize appropriate treatment for these children.

1122 days agoDear Dr. Lawlis
My name is Kathie. I have a 12 year old son with Autism. I search online, and want to know more about it and came across your site. I’m always looking out for my child. I’m always talking with his teacher about problems that may arise at school. He does very well in school. But I feel the more I know about Autism the better I can help my child. Thanks from Kathie.

1123 days agoI have a question, I’m using the music as well and I’ve kept it on repeat pretty much the whole day. We really love it, but I’m wondering if you have additional albums available so we can have more variety?
-
Hi Jen! It’s Gregori, the composer … I’m so glad you are enjoying the music! I’ve heard the same thought from a number of our early customers, and we do have a series that will become available shortly that will provide you with 3 albums to alternate during the day and a new album every month. Also, we do have two more albums that will be released Monday – one is for relaxation, the other is for sleep. You will be getting an email from us when they become available and when the series becomes available as well.

1124 days agoI can’t say thank you enough … thank you, thank you, thank you. I really enjoyed the book and really appreciate the information. My wife has printed the “Open Letter” and taped it to the refrigerator to remind us every day what having autism is like for our daughter and what we can do to reduce her anxieties. We’re both so curious – was that section of the book written by a person with autism?

1130 days agoThank you so much … I have a 4 year old son with autism and I felt like just the “open letter to my parents” has changed everything (in the positive) about my relationship with him. Thank you Dr. Lawlis.
I have a son who is severely autistic. He is now 23 years old. I wish, I wish, I wish, there had been something like this when my son was young.
Thank you for sparing the parents who are proactive enough to go looking for help the hardship and loneliness created when you are a parent of a special needs child.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving them a tool to help their children.
This is a hard situation WITH help. It is a nightmare without!
It took us literally years and a knock down drag out and a LOT of money (praise God for the money) to obtain help with our son.
I hope to see the movement to help our special needs children continue to move forward.
Again,
Thank You
